Self Study 4 -- Game Ideation
2023 Theme: Change
Could be evolutionary, revolutionary, through iteration, or however you think change is expressed most interestingly.
Game Idea 1:
Description:
This game would be a puzzle game. The player would be trapped in a world/place with an end destination. The world is filled with puzzles and objects that the player would need to interact with. To progress through the world and to react the end destination, the player would need to navigate through the world interacting with object and solving puzzles. Each time a puzzle is solved or an object (e.g. a switch, lever) has been interacted, the world would change and morph itself based the user interaction with puzzles and objects. Once a correct sequence objects triggered and puzzles solved, the world/place will then reveal an open path for the player to navigate the next location.
Target Audience: Young to elderly gamers on multi platforms (console, pc, mobile)
Prototype Focus: To focus on the idea of solving puzzles and uses clues and context to shape the world around them
Game Idea 2
Description
This game would also be a puzzle game however this time the player has an wieldable object (like a gmod tool gun). With this tool, the player can select many options to change the interaction (shape, movement) of an object. For example a player could change the shape of a cube to small, medium, large. This cube could be used to as a platform (large cube) to climb on top of and reach a platform, or a small cube which can be slotted into a hole to activate a trigger. This means many objects can have different uses based on the context of the area they are in.
Target Audience: Young to elderly gamers on multi platforms (console, pc, mobile)
Prototype Focus: To use creativity thinking skills to solve and challenges as well as to demonstrate how a singular object could have multiple uses/mechanics that can be used
